NOTES OF INTEREST
Mosport International Raceway has been a fixture on the American Le Mans Series schedule since the formation of the series in 1999 and the annual event marks the only appearance of the ALMS in Canada. The raceway is located 100 km east of Toronto, north of Highway 401 at Bowmanville. Exit at Durham 57 (Exit 431) North to Regional Road 20, East. Last year's ALMS race at Mosport featured the closest finish in the history of the series as the Audi R8 of Allan McNish/Rinaldo Capello nipped the BMW V12 LMR of JJ Lehto/Jorg Muller by just .148 second. The race will be a "hometown" event for ALMS regulars Tony Burgess, Ron Fellows, John Graham, Jeff Pabst and Kye Wankum, who all live in the Toronto area. The race is sponsored by Gran Turismo 3 (GT3), the exciting new video game for Sony Playstation.
