The crew for the Peterson Motorsports/White Lightning Racing #30-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS worked well into the night last night to repair the heavy front-end damage that the car suffered in yesterday's testing crash. Team co-owner Dale White said that the crew finished working at 1:30 a.m., then returned to the track when the paddock opened this morning to letter and decal the car so that it would be ready to practice today. "I can't believe they got it fixed," said White. "They deserve a lot of credit." The privateer racing team has run strongly this season against the factory Porsche and BMW teams in the GT class. "We have good drivers and a good team," said White. "We want to go to Le Mans next year and we're trying to do as well as we can in the ALMS. Our sponsors have been very supportive and we appreciate them because we couldn't be here without them."

For driver Terry Borcheller, this is his second GTS pole, and the third of the season for the #26 car (Sebring, Sears Point). For driver JJ Lehto, this is his fifth career pole, first of the year, and first in a GT car. For the BMW M3’s, this their third in a row.
