ALMS Race Start:
At 12:50, the temperature is 78 degrees with the wind at 8 mph from the southwest.
At 12:50, the track temperature is 100 degrees (Michelin engineers).
At 12:52, command to start engines.
At 12:52, all cars have started.
At 12:59, the field is by the Finish line for the first time starting the race. (The green flag will drop at turn 3).
 
At 1:00, green flag.
At 1:01, car  #5-P675 Reynard 01Q/Judd (de Radigues) spun going into turn 4, and continued.
At 1:02, at the end of the first lap, car #42-GT BMW M3 GTR (Lehto) has taken the lead in the GT class. Car #11-P675 Lola B2K/40/Judd (Huertgen) leads in the P675 class. Car #1-P900 Audi R8 retains the overall lead, and the #26-GTS Saleen S7R leads in GTS class.
 
At 1:06 after five laps, the leaders have started to lap the slower GT cars.
At 1:07, car #5-P675 Reynard 01Q/Judd has moved to sixteenth overall after falling behind with the first lap spin.
At 1:09, car #57-P675 Reynard 01Q/Judd is reported slowing on course at turn 3, has stopped on course between turns 7 and 8. From the team “It started missing, then it died.” The team reports the problem is electrical, the car started to misfire, then stopped and there isn’t enough juice to restart it.
 
At 1:19, car #16-P900 R&S Mk IIIC/Lincoln reported spraying fluid from the right rear.
At 1:20, car #5-P675 Reynard 01Q/Judd takes the lead in class passing the #11-P675 Lola B2K/40/Judd (14 laps completed).
 
At 1:24, the lead in all four classes is between 5 and 6 seconds for each of the leaders (#1-P900/#2-P900, #26-GTS/#4-GTS, #5-P675/#11-P675, #42-GT/#23-GT)
At 1:25, car #37-P900 B2K/10/Judd (Jon Field) reports the car is running hot.
At 1:28, car #48-P675 Pilbeam MP84/Nissan into the pits, stopped, then drove to the paddock.
At 1:29, car #37-P900 B2K/10/Judd has pulled off course at turn 7. The driver reports he is going to let the car cool off, then drive it in.
 
At 1:30, top three in class: #1-P900 (24 laps), #2-P900, #50-P900; #5-P675 (23 laps), #11-P675 (22 laps), #48-P675 (19 laps); #26-GTS (22 laps), #4-GTS, #3-GTS; #42-GT (22 laps), #23-GT, #43-GT.
 
At 1:33, car #37-P900 B2K/10/Judd into the pits, has headed back to the paddock.
At 1:37, car #4-GTS Chevrolet Corvette C5-R (Pilgrim) has closed to under one half second on the class leading #26-GTS Saleen S7R (Konrad).
At 1:39, car #4-GTS Chevrolet Corvette C5-R has gotten around the #26-GTS Saleen S7R for the lead in class.
At 1:43, car #48-P675 Pilbeam MP84/Nissan has returned to the pits from the paddock. Returns to the track at 1:45 with a driver change: Joe Blacker.
At 1:49, cars #26-GTS and #7-P900 had contact in the esses, car #26-GTS lost several seconds to the class leading  #4-GTS Chevrolet Corvette C5-R.
At 1:50, car #44-GTS Dodge Viper GTS-R into the pits. Tires and fuel, driver change: Tom Weickardt.
At 1:52, car #44-GTS Dodge Viper GTS-R is reported slowing on course at turn 2, but continues.
At 1:52, car #16-P900 R&S Mk IIIC/Lincoln into the pits. Tires and fuel, driver change: Butch Leitzinger.
At 1:53, car #50-P900 Panoz LMP1 Roadster S into the pits. Fuel only, no driver change.
At 1:54, car #7-P900 Cadillac LMP 01 into the pits. Tires and fuel, driver change: Emmanuel Collard.
At 1:55, car #48-P675 Pilbeam MP84/Nissan into the pits, headed to the paddock at 2:00.
At 1:56, car #51-P900 Panoz LMP1 Roadster S into the pits. Fuel only, no driver change, 10 second penalty for a fire bottle violation.
