Shane Lewis (#45-GTS Dodge Viper GTS-R) (about yesterday's accident) "It was a pretty terrifying qualifying session to say the least! The first practice session David (Donohue, co-driver) had an off and we spent the time repairing the car. [The team] wanted me to qualify the car. I went out for qualifying and I knew that something wasn’t right in the brakes from the moment I went out. I should have listened to my intuition knowing we had a problem but the team was pumped so we went out for a couple. I came back in and checked everything over and thought everything was OK. I went down into turn-one and the brakes wouldn’t release. About that time you are pretty much along for the ride. There is a considerable amount of damage but I am OK. The medical staff had a very hard look at me and cleared me. The Mid-Ohio medical staff are just great people. I feel bad for the crew because they have a lot of work to do to see if we can make this race. We’ll have to see if we’ll even be there for the race. The main thing is to find out what went wrong mechanically first. We’ll have a lot of work to do in the morning warm-up!"

Starting grid note: Car #69-GT Porsche 911 GT3-R will move to the back of the grid after changing from their qualifying tires (the team reports the qualifying set was flat-spotted). They will start 28th instead of 25th.
