THE LEATHER CENTER GRAND PRIX OF TEXAS
Saturday March 3, 2001 - PIT NOTES: Page 5

Ron Fellows (#3-GTS Chevrolet Corvette C5-R) "Andy (Pilgrim) cut a pretty good lap for us to go for. We made some quick changes to the car in the pits with only four minutes to go. The car was very slippery, it never felt like we got it right. Because of the temperatures it took forever to get some heat in the tires. (for me) The infield chicane was the tough part of the track. "

Lucas Luhr (#23-GT Porsche 911 GT3-RS) (about qualifying on pole twice in a row at this track) "It's just another circuit, not a favorite of mine.  Both times I have had a mighty good car. The first couple of laps I couldn't get the tires up to temperature. The circuit was difficult. We waited at the beginning as we knew the track was a little wet. The most difficult part was coming off turn 7 going up into the banking. I had to be careful with the throttle, otherwise I'd have a major oversteer moving into the banking."

Correction: This is Frank Biela's (# 2-P Audi R8) third pole (Sebring 2000, Mosport 2000).
