The No. 10 Team PTG M3 GTR of Niclas Jönsson pitted just past the 3-hour mark and Brian Cunningham continued to hold second until one hour later and lap 136 when the M3 suffered a driveshaft failure that retired their effort.

The No. 6 Team PTG M3 GTR of Bill Auberlen moved into second -- pitting at 4.45.  Hans Stuck began his second stint of the race, but a full-course yellow at 5.30 brought him back to the pits early and Boris Said belted in.

The No. 43 BMW Motorsport M3 GTR of Jörg Müller leads by one lap over the No. 6 Team PTG M3 GTR of Boris Said.  The No. 42 BMW Motorsport M3 GTR of JJ Lehto is third.

"The M3 GTR is fantastic.  You get out there on a full tank and the car sets good lap times, but we made a small change during the stop and I think it kept the car consistently quick throughout the stint.  The Yokohamas hung right in there.  I'm confident."
