2001 LMP675 Driver Champion, Didier de Radigues, and Dick Barbour Racing Prepare for Monterey Sports Car Championships

Braselton,Ga. (September 4, 2001) – For the September 9th Monterey Sports Car Championships, Dick Barbour Racing will again enter two LMP 675 Reynard 01Q prototypes.

Dick Barbour’s Reynards have been on a roll lately winning at Sears Point, Portland, Mosport and Mid-Ohio.  In fact, they have won their class in all North American events since returning from the 24 Hours of LeMans.

The one driver who has been involved in all of the wins is lead driver and newly crowned LMP 675 Champion, Didier de Radigues.  Didier currently has 5 wins and 5 pole awards so far this season with 2 races to go.

“Didier has been a strong leader both on and off the track.  He is truly a deserving champion and we look forward to a great future together,” stated Dick Barbour.  The new champion will team with the talented Venezuelan driver, Milka Duno, in the number 5 car for Monterey since team regular Bruno Lambert is unavailable.

The number 57 car will again be driven by John Graham and fellow Canadian Scott Maxwell.  Graham and Maxwell teamed up in 2000 to win the LMP 675 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Multimatic.  Multimatic is the parent company of Dynamics Suspensions, a technical partner of Dick Barbour Racing.

“We are making great progress with our Reynards and with the drivers championship settled, we look forward to focusing our efforts on another team championship,” stated team principal Dick Barbour.  In 2000, Dick Barbour Racing won the GT ALMS Championship with Porsche.
