Lemarie Still the Man to Beat

LEMARIÉ STILL THE MAN TO BEAT!

Most, Czech Republic, Sunday 5th August 2001:  In this mornings warm-up the Johansson Motorsports Audi R8 driven by Patrick Lemarié spent just a short time on the track but that was enough to scrub-in two sets of tyres and post the fastest time. The first four on the grid from yesterdays qualifying, Johansson Motorsports, Lanesra Racing, Racing Organisation Course and Didier Bonnet Racing finished the warm-up in the same order. The large crowd will be hoping that Czech racing stars Tomas Enge and Jaroslav Janis in the Lanesra Racing will secure a home win but Johansson and Lemarié in the Gulf Audi may have other ideas!

In the GTS class the Saleen S7R of RML took pole position yesterday but the car did not take part in this mornings warm-up due to a minor mechanical problem which has now been fixed. Ian McKellar will start, as RML look for another top performance after their win in the previous round at Estoril.

After suffering a broken drive shaft during qualifying, meaning that they start from the back of the grid, the number 73 Skea Porsche showed its intentions by posting the second fastest time in the GT class with Richard Dean behind the wheel. Harlow Motorsport (66) improved from 3rd to top their class, setting an almost identical time to qualifying.
