Triple Le Mans 24 Hour race winner Tom
Kristensen demonstrates a 220mph Audi R8 sportscar in the Festival of
Speed event at Goodwood this weekend (7-8 Jul). Kristensen, 34 on
Saturday (7 Jul), claimed his third Le Mans victory from just five
attempts when the "Great Dane" scorched to victory along with
his fellow 2000 Le Mans winners' Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro last month
(17-17 Jun). Tom, who also won the French "marathon" in 1997, remarked: "I have never been to Goodwood and I feel very privileged to be attending such a unique motorsport event. It'll be tremendous to see all of the legendary drivers and great machinery from past and present." Stefan Johansson drives the British-based Gulf Audi R8 while the actual 1983 RAC Rally winning Audi quattro driven by Stig Blomqvist will also be present in Sussex.
