BICESTER, England (April 3, 2001) -- The
upcoming European Le Mans Series race at England's Donington Park will be
previewed along with action from the Superflo 12 Hours At Sebring in a
special program that will air six times during the approaching week on the
Sky Sports television channel in the United Kingdom.
The Apr. 14 event at Donington Park will be the first race of 2001 for the ELMS and will feature a field of 30 sports cars in action for a two-hour, 45-minute race. That event, plus last month's American Le Mans Series 12-hour race from Sebring, Florida, will be the subjects of the Sky Sports television special. The debut airing of the program will be on Sky Sports 3 at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 7. The second airing will precede soccer at noon on Sunday, Apr. 8, on Sky Sports 1, with a replay later that day at 9:30 p.m. on Sky Sports 3. The final airing will be on Tuesday, Apr. 10, at 2:30 p.m. on Sky Sports 1. There will also be two showings on Sky Sports Extra, with times to be determined. Sky Sports, which reaches 6.9 million homes
in the U.K., will also have live coverage of the Donington race, as well as
four other ELMS events in 2001. |
