Race Car Rides During Grand Prix Of Texas Weekend To Support National Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; Panoz Racing School ‘Ride For A Cure’ Fund-raiser Coincides With American LeMans Series Event At Texas Motor Speedway March 3, 4

FORT WORTH/DALLAS, TX (February 26, 2001) -- The Panoz Racing School will launch its national support of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation here with ‘Ride for a Cure’ fund-raising autocross test rides during the American LeMans Series Grand Prix of Texas weekend March 3, 4.

Professional GT racing instructors -- many of whom are active competitors in a variety of motorsports -- will take their guests around a specially prepared autocross course just outside the main entrance to the Texas Motor Speedway.

According to Panoz Racing School Marketing Director Chris Sperry, “Each exciting trip around the course -- complete with some of the same racing sensations experienced by pro drivers during the ALMS event -- will cost $20, with profits going to the JDF.”

Sperry said this is an inaugural fund-raiser which is expected to be repeated at other national racing and entertainment venues during the 2001 racing season.

The opening of the Panoz Racing School facility at Texas Motor Speedway was announced at the first ALMS race ever there during the Labor Day 2000 weekend. Panoz Racing School activities there officially were launched with a community open house January 17, 2001.

Panoz Racing Schools are located at Road Atlanta (Georgia), Mosport (near Toronto), Sebring International Raceway (Florida), and Texas Motor Speedway (Fort Worth-Dallas) racetracks and offer racing instruction to all skill levels, from the novice to the seasoned driver looking to improve his or her racing abilities. The school also offers corporate incentive and team building programs. Panoz Racing School is the official school of the American LeMans Series.
