LEATHER CENTER GRAND PRIX OF TEXAS OFFERS EXCITEMENT FOR ENTIRE FAMILY

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Feb23, 2001) - Families looking for a fun-filled, action-packed weekend outing need look no further than the Texas Motor Speedway.  Children 12 and under will be admitted for free March 3-4 to the Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas, featuring the American Le Mans Series.

Families will watch some of the world's top high-performance sports cars battle it out on a 2.324-mile course, which incorporates the existing 1.5-mile oval with an .824-mile infield course complete with wild hairpin turns.

For further enjoyment, a mini-carnival will be set up on the infield in the South Paddock area.  The rides include the Zipper, the Kamikaze, the Starship 2000, and the Sizzler, which promise to provide many thrills and smiles.  The rides will be open 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the cost is $3.00 per ride.  Live concerts featuring local Dallas-Ft. Worth artists, "The Dorsey Gang Troubadour" and "The Geoff Allen Band," will begin each day at 11:30 a.m.  The popular area artists play a variety of country tunes that are sure to be a hit with the family.

Each ticket for the Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas is "All-Access" allowing families to tour the garage area and see the racecars up-close-and-personal.  The American Le Mans Series is also holding a free driver autograph session on Saturday of the event weekend at 2 p.m., allowing fans the opportunity to meet the drivers.

Tickets for the Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas are $25 for Saturday, $55 for Sunday, and $70 for both days.  Discount coupons toward the purchase of tickets are available at all 11 Leather Center locations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, as well as all Long John Silver's restaurants and O'Reilly Auto Parts stores.
