Car #67-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS Racers Group has been withdrawn.

ALMS Combined Practice - All classes (1-hour session):
At 9:30, green flag.
At 9:30, the sky is cloudy but the track is dry. According to Pirelli tire engineers, the air temperature is 64 degrees and the track temperature is 68 degrees.

At 9:38, car #35-GT Ferrari 360 Modena is being checked for smoking.
At 9:39, car #45-GTS Dodge Viper GTS-R is reported with the left rear tire rubbing.
At 9:41, car #15-P675 Reynard 02S/Zytek is reported running slowly on track, heading back to the pits.

At 9:57, car #25-GTS Saleen S7R is reported with light smoke from the rear of the car, the car has returned to the pits.

At 10:01, car #29-GT Porsche 911 GT3 R off and on at turn 3.
At 10:11, car #36-P900 R&S MK III C/Elan spun and made light contact losing the right rear bodywork and continued.

At 10:14, car #10-GT BMW M3 has pulled off in a safe location at turn 2, after a brief stop continues slowly back around with an apparent transmission problem.

Jim Matthews (#36-P900 R&S MK III C/Elan) "I got lose coming out of turn 5, I tried to save it by using the throttle. The outside tire caught the curbing and snapped it around, and the car hit the tires with the right side."

At 10:30, checkered flag.

Top three in class:
#1-P900 Emanuele Pirro 1:11.810, #36-P900 Jim Matthews 1:12.390, #38-P900 Johnny Herbert 1:12.439
#37-P675 Jon Field 1:13.466, #16-P675 Andy Wallace 1:13.983, #11-P675 Andy Lally 1:17.906
#3-GTS Oliver Gavin 1:19.502, #33-GTS Peter Kox 1:19.511, #4-GTS Franck Freon 1:20.651
#23-GT Sascha Maassen 1:23.677, #22-GT Timo Bernhard 1:24.252, #31-GT Randy Pobst 1:25.486

Lucas Luhr (#23-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) (What does it take to be fast on the 1.54-mile road course?) "To go quick it's pretty easy - it takes a heavy right foot! (Wednesday) I had a problem that our car was rolling a bit, so we need to work on the setup. To go quick you need to be constant and that's why we need to work a bit on our car. But for the first session, the car was pretty good."

Marc Lieb (#22-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) had a difficult start to the race week, when an LMP675 prototype car hit his Porsche on Wednesday. The car sustained damage to the right-rear suspension, exhaust headers and bodywork, but it was repaired in time for the first Thursday practice session. "I was just braking through a normal corner and suddenly I saw there was an LMP coming. He obviously had a braking problem, so he couldn't stop and crashed into me. He told me after, 'Sorry, I couldn't stop, I had some braking problems.' It's really bad luck."

Jason Workman, from nearby Gainesville, (#13-P675 Lola B2K40/Millington) "This is my first time out in this car and my first time driving a turbo. (with the turbo) there is no power then all of a sudden, boom.  It's hard to get used to. I'm used to driving Nissan V6 that has constant power, so this is a little hard to adjust to. Normally I teach for Skip Barber Racing School, and occasionally bartend at the Macaroni Grill in Buford Georgia. During the winter, I look for a ride."

Andy Wallace (#16-P675 MG Lola EX257/AER) "This session was fine. We had a power steering failure and we struggled a bit. The car had so much front grip that without the power steering it made it even harder to turn the steering wheel. This was my first time in the new Lola."

Changes to the entry list: on car #61-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS, driver Steve Donovan is not anticipated to participate.

ALMS Combined practice (1-hour session):
At 2:13, green flag.

At 2:23, according to Goodyear tire engineers, the air temperature is 69 degrees with a track temperature of 72 degrees. The sky is still overcast and the track is still dry.
At 2:24, a light rain is beginning to fall in the pits.
At 2:37, the precipitation is being reported all around the track.
At 2:40, most teams have pitted to change to intermediate rain tires.

At 3:05, heavy rain reported in turn 6.

At 3:09, David Donohue (#50-P900 Panoz LMP01) into the wall at turn 10, driver's right. The driver got out of the car, but the accident left a lot of debris on the track.

David Donohue (#50-P900 Panoz LMP01) "I got on the brakes and the car turned on me. I don't know how much damage there is. Obviously, I feel real bad at the moment". This was his first time in the car this weekend, and the first time back racing in ALMS since Le Mans.

At 3:10, checkered flag (too much to clean up and restart the session).

Top three in class:
* Tom Kristensen (#2-P900 Audi R-8) 1:12.154, David Donohue (#50-P900 Panoz LMP01) 1:12.616, Frank Biela (#1-P900 Audi R-8) 1:13.157.
* John Medford (#74-P675 Reynard 01Q/Nicholson) 1:20.523, John Olsen (#55-P675 Pilbeam MP84/Nissan) 1:24.280, Bryan Willman (#56-P675 Pilbeam MP84/Nissan) 1:24.756.
* Johnny O'Connell (#3-GTS Corvette C5-R) 1:19.364, Alain Menu (#33-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) 1:20.615, Kelly Collins (#4-GTS Corvette C5-R) 1:21.064.

Pit Notes Page 3

Note: In the last practice session, the damage to car #50-P900 Panoz LMP01 was sufficient to keep the car off the track this evening.

At 7:00, the scheduled practice is on hold while officials check the condition of the track. Rain has been falling hard for the last hour and one half. The pace car is on the track doing a recon. One of the reasons for this session is to certify drivers for night driving. Any driver who is going to run at night in the Petit must complete at least one timed lap. For the drivers of the #50-P900 Panoz LMP01, previous experience will allow them to qualify to run the race in the dark, since their car is not available.

At 7:04, it has been announced the cars will roll off in approximately 5 minutes.
At 7:05, the air temperature is 68 degrees and the track temperature is estimated at 60 degrees, according to Goodyear tire engineers. The rain has mostly stopped with scattered sprinkles around the track.

ALMS Night practice session - scheduled for 2 hours.
At 7:12, green flag.
At 7:18, the rain is starting to fall harder.

At 7:35, it has stopped raining (at least on the pit/paddock side of the track). It was just announced that practice would continue until 9:00 pm, as scheduled.

At 7:46, Emanuele Pirro (#1-P900 Audi R-8) returns to the track after changing settings on the front end and putting on a new front nose. At this time, he is the third fastest car on the track with a 1:29.592, behind #15-P675 Reynard 02S/Zytek with a 1:27.512, and overall leader Rinaldo Capello (#2-P900 Audi R-8) with a 1:24.029. These times are a full 12 seconds slower than the laps turned earlier in the dry.

Ron Fellows (#3-GTS Corvette C5-R) "We're just trying to be careful, check out the lights. That's about it. There's no point in running a lot of laps in these conditions, we'll just wait until Saturday".

Alain Menu (#33-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "These are not the easiest conditions to drive in. This is my first time driving at night here. In some of the corners it goes from light to dark and I'm trying to get used to that. It is quite difficult as is the spray from the cars."

At 7:46, Emanuele Pirro (#1-P900 Audi R-8) goes to the top of the chart with a 1:24.026, Team Audi is now one-two.

Stephane Ortelli (#98-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "By coming here late in the year, it gives us a lot to learn and a big gap with the competition. We have lots of experience and if we are accurate as possible we will gain on the track what we lost in the year. The rain on the track gave us the gain that we have now. This is a brand new car for us, the one we planned to run is still in Europe, so we are learning a lot about this car too. This car has only had one and a half practices on it. We lost our other car in Portugal and had to bring this one instead. The car fit the track very well in the rain. This is going to be a challenge for us."

Christian Vann (#27-P900 Dome S-101/Judd) "The track is not too bad and the light is not bad at all. It's actually very driver friendly. We're getting there with the car, we're making steps forward."

Domenico Schiattarella (#0-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "The car is very good under these wet conditions. We discovered a problem with the front end after the afternoon session, which we corrected. The balance of the car feels very good, actually, we could have gone a few seconds faster, but we didn't want to push the car in these (rainy) conditions."

Kevin Buckler (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "We needed the practice time and I'm happy that we each got what we needed out of it. We needed to do a few exploratory laps and that is what we did. I'm happy with how the car felt in general and it really felt fine in the rain. Each lap we gained seconds which felt good and the Michelins were working great."

Brian Cunningham (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "I've never driven a Porsche in the rain, everything seemed to be ok. The track was drying out each lap and the car really gained a lot of grip."

Michael Schrom (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "All three of us got our laps in the car and that's what we needed to do. The rain was tricky since I was first out, but all in all it felt good. I'm looking forward to a rain practice in daylight."

Boris Said (#40-GT BMW M3) "This is a great track, except its wet and slippery. The car is running great, and I hope it rains the whole race."

Alain Menu (#33-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "It was difficult to see where it's wet on the track, and also difficult when you come from a dark area into a lit area as the reflection comes up from the track as a glare. You wouldn't believe it, but on my second lap I could have gone quicker but got a lot of traffic! You have to be very gentle on the throttle otherwise it would be easy to lose control of the car."

Peter Kox (#33-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "It took a little bit of getting used to but the team have done a great job today. They changed the engine after the second daytime practice, and the Michelin tires we are using are fantastic in the wet. We are all just doing a few laps each and trying to keep it on the ice."

Tomas Enge (#33-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) worked on evaluating different compounds of wet tires, and set a fastest time of 1:30.091.  "It was my first time on the circuit in the wet in this car. I am surprised how well the Michelins and the car worked in the wet. We set a good time and I am now looking forward to driving more in wet conditions."

Changes to the entry list: on #21-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS, add driver Boris Derichebourg, delete driver Michael Neugarten.

ALMS Combined Practice (1-hour session):

At 8:00, green flag.

At 8:04, Jeret Schroeder (#87-P900 Norma M2000-2/Ford) reported off course between turns 7 and 8 with a fire, the fire has been contained, the driver in no danger, and the car is in mostly a safe location.
At 8:08, Grady Willingham (#52-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) spun off into the gravel trap at turn 10, crews are attempting to pull the car out, local yellow.
At 8:12, Grady Willingham (#52-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) has returned to the course.

At 8:14, Goodyear tire engineers report the track and air temperature is 67 degrees, under cloudy, misty skies, with a slightly damp track.

At 8:25, Rob Barff (#84-GTS Saleen S7R) reported smoking from the left rear, returns to the pits, the crew reports the car went off course and the smoke was residual from the wet grass.

At 8:32, Leo Hindery (#43-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) has returned to the pits without a door, and the crew is putting on a new one at this time. The team has requested that officials return the door from the track when the session is over.

At 8:40, Boris Derichebourg (#21-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) slow in turn 9 and pulled off with small fire. Crews put out the fire at the scene and the driver is all right.

At 8:40, black flag all.
At 8:45, green flag.
At 9:00, checkered flag.

Top three in class:
#1-P900 Frank Biela 1:12.666, #8-P900 Max Angelelli 1:13.022, #27-P900 Xavier Pompidou 1:14.090
#16-P675 James Weaver 1:14.020, #15-P675 John Nielsen 1:14.614, #37-P675 Michael Durand 1:17.057
#26-GTS Toni Seiler 1:20.444, #3-GTS Ron Fellows 1:20.643, #4-GTS Andy Pilgrim 1:20.990
#98-GT Stephen Ortelli 1:25.494, #79-GT Mike Fitzgerald 1:26.166, #22-GT Marc Lieb 1:26.194

Car #50-P900 Panoz LMP01 will be ready for qualifying. The crew worked all night basically replacing the right side of car, including the floor, nose and forward chassis.

At the end of the session, #23-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS lost headlights and power steering due to an alternator failure. The car will be repaired for qualifying.

Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 12:45 pm EDT. The GTS and GT class cars will be on the track at the same time for a 20-minute session, followed by the P900 and P675 classes also running concurrently. In each of the two sessions, only one driver from each car will participate and the best time of the session counts as the cars qualifying time. The cars will line up for the race grid based on overall performance with the fastest car, regardless of class, starting on the pole. The qualifying driver is not required to start the car in the race and the team can designate any of the listed drivers for their car to begin the race. No driver can be in the car more than 75% of the total time of the event (for the race only).

James Weaver (#16-P675 MG Lola EX257/AER) "The car ran very well. The car, like all the cars, are built for Le Mans, so on a fast track the straight line racing is perfect for these cars. (after a practice like this) I could use a cup of hot tea."

Angelo Barretto (#21-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) (why they pulled off at the end of the session) "The alternator belt came off which made the temperatures go way high in the car."

Xavier Pompidou (#27-P900 Dome S-101/Judd) "I did two laps last night in the rain, one at speed, so I've only had seven laps so far. This car is great to drive, what a pleasure. I have not driven a prototype in a year, I've been racing GTs in Europe. What a great car."

The saga of car #62-P675 Lola B2K/42/Mazda: on Wednesday they found the casing on the gearbox was bad, and they spent the entire day yesterday changing it. They did complete 19 laps in the morning practice, and were 23rd overall.

Once again on top in GT class was the #98-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Driver Stephane Ortelli brings to this team quite a successful Porche racing background. In 1998 Ortelli won Le Mans overall with co-drivers Alan McNish and Yannick Dalmas in a Porsche GT1. He is also the 2002 Group N champion in the FIA-GT series and by finishing third at Indianapolis a couple of weekends ago, clinched the 2002 Porsche Michelin Supercup season title.

Kevin Buckler (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "The track is drying out, so things are very different from last night's practice. The car still feels good and at this point we're experimenting with the Michelins."

Brian Cunningham (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "Since we really don't know what the weather is going to be like tomorrow, this was a good way to test some different tires and see how they felt. We didn't need to push it with our times, it was a good way to search, test and get a good feel."

Michael Schrom (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "This session was really just a fact finding mission for us. We had some tire changes and experimented with different tire changes and we're ready for qualifying."

At 12:41, Michelin tire engineers report the air temperature is 76 degrees and the track temperature is 88 degrees.

ALMS Qualifying - GTS/GT classes (20-minute session):

Pit Notes Page 8

Jorg Bergmeister (#22-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "Thank you to the team, they did a great job. It's my first pole in the ALMS and I'm really happy! We put a little softer tire on the left rear, so I had to push from the beginning because I knew the tire would drop quite quickly. My second lap when the tire was the best, I had traffic, so I had to push even harder. I was just pushing as hard as I could. The car is really good to drive, and it will good fun for tomorrow. We're pretty optimistic for the race."

Sascha Maassen (#23-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "We're on the front row, that was our goal for today. We are in good shape for the race and for the championship, so I hope we continue with the program we have planned and then I'll hopefully be a happy man tomorrow afternoon. But there's a lot to do still, it's a long race and there are a lot of other cars are between us and the checkered flag maybe. My plan was to be quicker than Ortelli, but it was pretty difficult to judge my speed because we didn't have a reference lap in the car. So I had to judge my speed and I did it right, but it wasn't just pure ability, there was a little bit of luck involved!"

Tomas Enge (#33-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "I had no clear laps but apart from that I had no problems! The car was really great, we sorted out the set up problems we had the last two days and it was working really well. The Michelin tires were also working well so I only had to concentrate on my driving. I was pushing the car to the limit and avoiding the traffic so I am very happy for the team to have got pole position. The car and tires were brilliant, so it was more a case of concentrating on my own progress. The pole will give the team a big boost for tomorrow's race. We know it will be hard against the Corvettes because they are two and we are alone. A win would really be a good end to the season. The car and race setup are good and we'll do everything to win the race and keep the car as it is."

Frank Biela (#1-P900 Audi R-8) "Our engineer came up with a plan to get the qualifying point in case something happens to the other car. During practice conditions were constantly changing so it was hard to judge how well we were doing. We only had one problem, a little too much under steer, which could be a problem during the race. One important thing, is that our car is always pretty reliable."

James Weaver (#16-P675 MG Lola EX257/AER) (keeping up with 900s, what was your chance for the overall pole) "We thought we could get third quickest. Anything better than that would have taken a bit of a miracle." (going into the race) "Our first objective is to finish. Our second is to try and win the 675 class. The third is to try and get on the (overall) podium. The fourth thing is not being beaten by a girl."  (about the speed of the car) "Yes, it's a fabulous little car, its very, very fast. Its light and the engine is very good.  Historically, Road Atlanta has been a good track for Goodyear. Its our fourth race with this car and we're pretty pleased."

Rob Dyson, car owner (#16-P675 MG Lola EX257/AER) (about the reliability of the engine) "We hope (we've made gains). Our objective after Mosport was to make sure, that was the primary area we wanted to eliminate . the variability. We want no worries about engines. The people at AER have stepped right up to the challenge." (how important is the pole) "We've always viewed qualifying as the step you need to take to get in the race. The expression I got from AJ Foyt was 'Put it in the show'. The payday is race day. Our objective is to do well in qualifying and run the car hard because in essence it is race prep. But we don't do a special qualifying setup. Obviously we run on a lower fuel load, but that's no secret."

Domenico Schiattarella (#0-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "The car was not so bad today, in fact it was the best of the weekend so far, but we still need more down force. Our biggest problem is lack of engine capacity. Obviously, our 5.7 liter Ferrari just doesn't have the power of the 6.0 liter Ferrari or the big Corvette. On the other hand, we have excellent fuel economy, so with a little luck and a smart race, we'll be OK at the end of 10 long hours."

Ron Fellows (#3-GTS Corvette C5-R) "The car felt good and the tires were only decent. The hot track temperatures were not what we expected, and kinda went off after the second lap. The weather is gonna be a lottery this weekend."

Jan Magnussen (#50-P900 Panoz LMP01) "We had a half dozen guys working all night to get the car back together. All things considered, the car is working good. My last lap could have been faster but I ran out of fuel coming out of the chicane. I'm happy with the car, and we're gonna send the guys home to get some sleep.

Stephane Ortelli (#98-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "We were slow at first because we missed practice on Wednesday, but now the car is perfect. We should get even better with further knowledge of the track as the race goes on tomorrow."

Kevin Buckler (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "The car really felt as good as it has all week. It almost felt like a completely different car from this morning. It felt compliant in general and good on the downhill stretch for the first time. I would like to have shaved a second off my time, but with an endurance race such as this, qualifying isn't as important. Overall I'm pretty happy."

Jon Field (#37-P675 MG Lola EX257) "We went to a tire compound that took about 10 laps to come up to temperature. About the time that happened I hit a bunch of traffic. The Spencer (#62-P675 Lola B2K/42/Mazda) car came to a halt in front of me in turn 10, which slowed me down. I could have been better if that hadn't happened. The engine felt good and we're happy with the setup."

Dennis Spencer (#62-P675 Lola B2K/42/Mazda) (in response to John Field) "That's racing. Everyone qualifies with the same cars on the same track and has an equal opportunity to get caught behind another car.  Qualifying is about making the best lap given the circumstances involving other cars on the track."

Terry Borcheller (#26-GTS Saleen S7R) "Things went OK. The track temperatures affected us adversely from a setup standpoint. If it had stayed overcast we probably could have gotten them. I just needed to be a half second faster.

Tom Kristensen (#2-P900 Audi R-8) "Things didn't go to bad. We missed on the tire pressures. On my fastest lap the front of the car got loose and after that the tires had already gone past their peak performance. Frank (Biela) had the time we had last year, but we couldn't match that this time."

Johnny Herbert (#38-P900 Audi R-8) "This is not quite how we wanted it, because of the unexpected change in the weather. The car felt pretty good and should be good for tomorrow."

Rinaldo Capello (#2-P900 Audi R-8) (about not winning the championship) "I won five races this year, but didn't win the championship. But I feel, for me, it was still a great season. Is two Petit Le Mans is worth one Le Mans?" (about winning here) "Over the past few years, I've had some great teammates to win so many Petits" (about today's race) "The traffic today was terrible, some drivers do not belong on the track. We had a good pace for victory. The yellows were very bad for us, but later on they worked for us. (At the earlier one) we could have put a lap on the second place car." (overall) "A sportscar driver, must win Le Mans, and I still don't know the feeling of having done that."

Tom Kristensen (#2-P900 Audi R-8) (has the championship sunk in yet) "Yes, and no. It's very hard to win within at team, we won it together. To clinch with such an important race, and win the championship and Le Mans in the same year is very satisfying" (about the race) "The first part of the race we drove very cautiously. We made sure we'd finish. We have both matured this year. The reason we matured, was because we wanted this so badly last year and we wanted it even more this year. We realized that finishing races was the only way to win. We switched to a new Michelin compound that worked really well for us. The crew did a fantastic tactic at the end, and a fantastic job all year."

Jon Field (#37-P675 MG Lola EX257) "It was a pretty awesome race. I'm very excited to win the Petit Le Mans. The driver's championship was a great bonus on top of the win today. Our team was great. It would not have been possible without all of their help. This win and our championship win shows that all of that hard work paid off. You're going to see more of the MG's on the podium next year, for sure. Apart from the tire puncture it wasn't a clean race. The under tray became loose for Michael (Durand). I hopped in the car next with over a 10 lap lead and decided to have the crew change it to be safe. The loose tray wasn't really much of a problem, but it caused a little buffeting down the long straights. After our shunt in Miami, the crew had the car ready by Wednesday! Just an amazing accomplishment again by my crew." (on going to Le Mans in 2003) "Duncan, Mike and myself are dead set on going."

Johnny O'Connell (#3-GTS Corvette C5-R) "Ron was running much quicker than Tom Enge. It was an amazing race, two teams pushing as hard as they could. I was wondering when I would get to win here. I've been very superstitious. Finally a win. I was starting to wonder. The most exciting moment of the year was watching Ron put pressure on Tom. You want to win Daytona, Sebring, Le Mans, this is the one we hadn't won." (about Ron winning the championship) "If I had to pick one over another, it had to be Ron. He's worked so hard for team Corvette over the years.  We have mutual respect for each other. Even though he won the championship, I'll feel my name is right there with his. Win or lose you depend on how strong your team is and we topped it off by bringing in a third great driver for long events. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be back on this team next year."

Ron Fellows (#3-GTS Corvette C5-R) "If you had to write a script like last year, then wait a year, this was even better. We didn't have the speed of the Ferrari, but we didn't quit. I tried to stay close, and at one point got ahead of the Ferrari, but I cut a tire. The last stop we put some special Goodyear tires on. We'll take this one, we've been a little unlucky at this track. It was great for the championship to never give up. I was slipping and sliding, the track came to us after it cooled off. I was being careful and I didn't want to risk it. The time worked out, and it was a storybook deal. The Goodyear's stood up really well and stayed quick the whole time. The Ferrari is a cool car to beat. It was a good exercise at the end to charge through traffic. We don't get the opportunity to go like that very often. The championship was setup and the team had to pick one guy, and I was the oldest one. Getting a number of poles got us the championship. The rules will be better next year for the team championship."

Oliver Gavin (#3-GTS Corvette C5-R) "This is the right seat to be in. I want to thank Ron for a sterling performance. It was a tough race. I had been fortunate to come into this team. To win at Sebring, Le Mans, and now here, I didn't think it was possible."

Unofficially, KnightHawk Racing (#11) won the LMP 675 team championship by one point over Intersport (#37). It was the only team championship not already decided before the race.

Sascha Maassen (#23-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) (about the extra cars coming over from Europe) "At the beginning I was able to get the lead quite soon. I pulled away, the car was great. We were really flying. We had to finish at least 25 laps each to secure the championship for us both. We didn't take any risks in the beginning, but I didn't need to take any risks with this car, it was so easy to drive. There was no problem, and we pulled away. " (on being co-champion) "I was nervous all year. To do that is not very easy. We had a lot of strategy meetings to try to be equal in points. It's only possible if you have a teammate you can trust. Lucas and I have worked together two years and we rely on each other.  And the fact that he's incredibly quick is good I have to thank Mike Evans, our strategist, who gave us perfect strategy all year. It means more that we are co-champions, as it was a bigger target, and more difficult to achieve than being a single champion."

Lucas Luhr (#23-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) (on the European cars in the field) "No one of our competitors could go the same speed as we could. When I got in the car, Sascha did already his 27 laps to get points. The first couple of laps I was careful. Then I said, why be careful. Just go out and win the race, and the championship comes deserved. So I went out and was able to put everyone a lap down, then we drove our race and pulled away from everybody." (on sharing the championship) "Its exactly the thing everyone should do. The point situation should be like this, that your having this kind of racing with two champions. You're sharing a car together all year, you work together, we win together the races, so why aren't we champions together in the championship. If you're driving alone, that's fine. But we win together and lose together. If I make any stupid mistakes, Sascha can drive his ass off and we're not going to win. So I'm really happy, it's my pleasure to walk on the stage Sunday night with Sascha."

Melanie Paterson (#55-P675 Pilbeam MP84/Nissan) "I wish I would have had the chance to compete the full season, but I could only piece together sponsorship for this race and two other ALMS races this year. We plan to do the full season next year. We're still looking for sponsors. I must say, I really love this series, especially the LMP 675 class. Just love it. This class is a great building block towards the LMP 900 class, which is where I would eventually like to be. Personally, I was surprised we made it to the end with all of our troubles. But we never gave up and kept giving all we had. The first hour, we lost 40 minutes to repairs to the floor and bodywork. But we never let phase us, just made us fight harder. Then it was the flat tire. The flat resulted in a severely broken left rear suspension. And did it ever break! The guys replaced the broken mounts and arm in the pits. It cost us another 35 to 45 minutes more. Then somehow we made it to third in class. Like I said, what a great race. I love you, Petit Le Mans."

Stefan Johansson (#38-P900 Audi R-8) "Sometimes it's great to be second, but not today. I thought we had it. We got snookered on that last yellow, with the 2 car catching the caution (just right)."

JJ Lehto (#8-P900 Cadillac LMP02) "We're very happy to have four podium finishes in a row. It's always difficult to beat Audi, and today it wasn't meant to be. We could not have gone any faster. We just wish we had more to show for everyone's hard work here at Cadillac, and did we have a lot to show!"

Domenico Schiattarella (#0-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "It was a good finish for us. Our boys are the best. I am very happy for the team to finish the season with a good result and we start tomorrow on our 2003 program with Olive Garden and Coca-Cola. My thanks to them for their support."

Emanuelle Naspetti (#0-GTS Ferrari 550 Maranello) "We started the day with very good car, but we had some bad luck. Our second stop came just before a caution period... that was bad luck. But it was great to team with Max (Papis) for this race and of course my friend Mimmo for the entire season."

Kevin Buckler (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "Three small gremlins kept us off the podium today, but overall the car ran really well and we persevered in adverse conditions. I'm proud of my co-drivers and the crew. I'm happy that we finished the way we did. It really has been an amazing season"

Brian Cunningham (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "I think we had the best results we could expect. We had consistent and fast lap times and stuck it out. We were able to pick out a few cars and finish well. I'm happy to help Kevin to third in the driver points."

Michael Schrom (#66-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RS) "We tried as hard as we could, but came up against some unavoidable difficulties. We were up against the best drivers and cars in the world this weekend"

Andy Pilgrim (#4-GTS Corvette C5-R) "We met our team goal in getting both Corvettes on the podium. Its also good to see Ron win this one after what happened to him last year. Ron's car finished, but we won as a team today. I'm very happy for all of us this year. A win here for us would been that much better."

Editors note: Thanks for a great season, from coast to coast (in the last month alone). The teams have been great to work with, the tracks more than accommodating, and the quality of volunteers outstanding. This upcoming winter will be over none to soon."
